Stretching Between sets? WHAT?

Stretching, Friend or enemy between working sets?

Research shows there may be a benefit to stretching the working muscle between sets.

I find this kinda fascinating because the previous research stated that this was, in fact, a bad thing and can decrease your performance. The study took 2 groups, 1 not stretching between sets and 1 stretching between sets with the same workout over an 8-week block.

The results show overall that the stretching between the set group gained 50% more muscle thickness overall. The overall part is important as most of the gains in that group came from the vastus lateralis (outside muscle on your quad(front leg) ).

There isn't enough research on this to determine if it's really the thing to be doing, but the study also found there to be no negative effects, so it's worth a try.

What are your thoughts???? Nice short one this time, Let me know if you prefer the shorter style or a more in-depth look.

In this study, they were static stretching for 30 sec or less
